ETM Manufacturing Names Vice President of Operations

25+ Year Veteran of Sheet Metal Manufacturing Joins as Demand Grows to

Accelerate Ramp to Production and Delivery

LITTLETON, Mass. (September 26, 2013) – With demand for accelerated ramps to production driven by New England manufacturers, ETM Manufacturing has named David Puleo, a 30-year veteran of sheet metal manufacturing as vice-president of operations. The company made the choice based on Puleo’s proven track-record in running lean operations for custom sheet metal companies and deep knowledge in building processes that decrease inefficiencies, increase profitability and improve workflow while exceeding customer’s expectations.

The executive-level role has recently been added by the company, which has continued to invest in capacity and service expansion even as the economic recovery has sputtered along.  As vice president of operations, Puleo will oversee the strategy and management of day-to-day production and delivery to customers, including materials management, workflow and quality assurance. Reporting to company president, Rob Olney, he will play a critical role in identifying areas where lean manufacturing and Six Sigma strategies can be applied to ensure that demand and capacity are aligned for optimized production and on-time delivery.

“The ‘new normal’ for our customers is characterized by the criticality of a fast ramp to production– it’s got to be speedy, it’s got to be right and it’s got be now—leaving little wiggle room for error or delay,” said Olney. “David’s experience, especially in designing and implementing standards for manufacturing excellence in this industry, will be of great value as we work to optimize capacity.”

Prior to joining ETM, Puleo spent 20 years at Massachusetts based Commercial Sheet Metal, where he began in purchasing and ultimately rose to be VP of operations. Grounded in knowledge about all aspects of the business – from raw material acquisition and production to customer engagement and employee relations – means he comes to ETM Manufacturing familiar with what is needed and what strategies are available to move the operation forward.

ETM Manufacturing provides sheet metal fabrication, machining and assembly with customized solutions to New England OEMs in dozens of industries including computing giant EMC2 Corporation and solar mounting system leader, Panel Claw. The company has developed a model for accelerating the ramp to production, added new services and continues to invest in equipment  to meet New England manufacturers’ need for a local partner for quality sheet metal fabrication and supply chain solutions.
