in Operations & Personnel Investments

LITTLETON, Mass. (December 10, 2013)ETM Manufacturing, trusted by dozens of regional original manufacturers (OEMs) for high quality, cost-effective sheet-metal fabrication, reports a strong year, in spite of an economic recovery characterized by fits and starts.  Its customer base continues to grow and the company has been able to expand opportunities in new markets, including consumer goods, retail displays, and industrial equipment.  In addition, strategic investments in equipment and new hires position ETM for additional growth in 2014.

“In the past 12 months, we’ve seen customers continuously raise expectations on quality, time-to-delivery and cost,” said Rob Olney, president of ETM Manufacturing. “That’s meant we’ve had to get smarter and more effective in every aspect of our operations to successfully navigate the challenges that customers bring to us—as a result, we’re stronger and better positioned to give them what they want.”

2013 milestones include:

New customers/markets:  Serving regional OEMS seeking a sheet-metal manufacturing partner who can offer accelerated ramps to production, flexible and responsiveness customer-centric service and high quality, ETM continues to attract new customers. This year the company added, Antenna International, a leading provider of audio equipment to museums around the world; Gold Medal Bakery and others.

Capital equipment investment: in 2013, ETM brought two state-of-the art pieces of equipment online, offering customers a local source for increasingly complex and sophisticated sheet-metal fabrication.

Services expansion: In Q1 2013, ETM launched a metal polishing service after successfully developing a process that grew from a customer’s need to accelerate time-to-market for chromed retail displays

Hiring growth: Building an organizational structure that can support fast-ramps, and flexible scalability has been a critical milestone for ETM. Adding a vice-president of operations and a business development manager, both with more than 20 years of experience in the industry ensures that customer requirements are understood and can be met expeditiously.

The company’s continued success and ability to grow in the face of continued economic uncertainty is reflected also in its inclusion for the 3rd consecutive year on the Inc. 500|5000 list.
