Start-Up Needs to Deliver

New case manufacturer with limited capacity needs manufacturing help to deliver on its promises

A local start-up company needed to bootstrap their business and needed fabrication experience. ETM Manufacturing was able to take over production and ship within 6 weeks – exceeding their original goal. ETM has continued to support future OEM RFQ efforts.

Challenge

When a North Carolina based spine company came to Case Continuum with a big project, it was clear they couldn’t do it alone.  Case Continuum, a start-up medical case company, faced serious capacity issues especially with regard to sheet metal fabrication.  They needed a company that could handle the production of the cases from design to completion.  This included a custom design, instrument brackets, silk screen graphics, color anodization, hardware sourcing and assembly.

Solution

Case Continuum’s sales and design team turned to ETM Manufacturing for help.  Case Continuum had several suppliers, but they needed someone they could trust to manage the process without having to micro-manage the process.  Owners of start-ups wear many hats and they can’t afford the time to babysit a supplier.  ETM’s team took the drawings and laid out the entire process.  Weekly conference calls kept Case Continuum’s management up to speed and the project on target.

Results

Case Continuum, with the help of ETM, delivered 20 sets of cases and caddies to the spine company on-time and on-budget.  The spine OEM was very happy with the superior workmanship and the fit of the surgical instrument.  Barry Beauchesne, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Case Continuum said.  “It was an honor and a privilege to work with you both, along with the other great people at ETM Manufacturing“
