ETM Manufacturing Names Director of Operations

Jonathan Bowen Brings World-Class Expertise in Lean Manufacturing to New England Sheet Metal Fabricator

LITTLETON, Mass. (August 14, 2015) – In the second expansion of its leadership team this year, ETM Manufacturing has named Jonathan Bowen as director of operations. The company brought Bowen based on his experience in lean manufacturing, including a proven track-record of designing effective training programs and processes that accelerate the adoption of the discipline.

Bowen’s appointment follows the company’s hiring of its first vice president of sales and marketing and reflects ETM’s continuous commitment to fueling excellence through lean manufacturing strategies.

As director of operations, Bowen will be responsible for day-to-day production and delivery to customers, including materials management, workflow and quality assurance. Reporting to company president, Rob Olney, he will play a critical role in identifying areas where lean manufacturing strategies can be applied to improve quality, reduce inefficiency and increase flexibility in commodity-driven operations.

“We recognize that our customers depend on us to continuously seek ways to lean out their supply chains,” said Olney. “Jonathan’s experience in the automotive industry, where lean manufacturing principles were born and honed, and his know-how in applying those principles in other industries will support that commitment to pursue the next level of manufacturing excellence.”

Bowen began his career in manufacturing at Toyota operations in Tennessee, where he led training and projects for continuous improvement in production performance. At Massachusetts-based New Balance, Bowen spear-headed an initiative to accelerate the conversion of five domestic operations to lean practices, including training, operational and quality standards. Most recently, Bowen was director of hardware manufacturing at Massachusetts-based Vecna Technologies, where he streamlined operations and developed processes for new product introduction.
