ETM Manufacturing Acquires Cold Saw for Precision Sheet-Metal Cutting

Growing Demand for Custom-Designed Equipment Frames Fuels Investment

LITTLETON, Mass. (Jan. 13 2015) — ETM Manufacturing, one of New England’s most trusted sheet-metal manufacturers,  today announced that it has added a new service, investing again to meet customer demand for increasingly sophisticated sheet-metal fabrication and assembly services.  The company has acquired a cold saw for the kind of precision sheet-metal cutting required for a wide portfolio of equipment from food service racks and retail displays to printers and architectural forms.

The saw’s ability to perform precise, consistent cuts of varying degrees, on multiple shapes and of thicknesses ranging from 0.015″ to 1.000″, gives ETM Manufacturing’s customers new access to solutions for their products. It can be applied in a broad range of applications: creating the form or structure for virtually any piece of equipment, as well as design elements that are used for both aesthetic and utilitarian purposes.

ETM’s customers include original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) whose products include large format printers, 3-D printers, food service machines and transport racks, laser cutting machines, retail displays, large-scale architecture forms and many more. These companies have partnered with ETM based on the company’s continued investment in people, process and equipment and a singular focus on providing high-volume, quick-turn and quality sheet metal solutions. Customers include Antenna International, PanelClaw and EMC2 Corporation.

The new equipment, a Scotchman CPO 350, offers a range of technical features and specifications, including:

  • Consistent, high precision cuts on sheet metal ranging in thickness from 0.015″ to 1.000″
  • A wide range of miter cuts as wide as 45-degrees left and right, and all angles in between
  • The ability to steel, aluminum and stainless tubing and bar stock of all shapes

The saw is be mounted on a mobile stand, allowing team members to move the equipment as needed, improving efficiency and flexibility.

“Nearly every product that our customers build starts with a frame,” said Rob Olney, president of ETM Manufacturing. “With this investment, we’re able to provide a high-quality, cost-effective solution for the backbone they need to deliver the same caliber of solution to their customers.”
