ETM Manufacturing Expanded Operations in Full Production
New England manufacturers (OEMS) seeking local partners for sheet metal fabrication and supply chain solutions can look no further. Less than eight weeks after the first wall came down in a facility that had lain idle since 2009, ETM Manufacturing today announced that its 43,000-square foot environmentally friendly facility is open and in full production. For New England OEMS the news is welcome, as commodity price fluctuations, global economic instability and demand uncertainty make partnering locally an imperative strategy for building more flexible, responsive supply chains.

ETM Manufacturing, the trusted partner for highly customized, high quality sheet metal manufacturing and supply chain solutions, will more than quadruple the size of its New England-based operations, opening a state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly facility in Littleton, Mass. in early 2012. The company today announced that it has begun a $500,000 renovation on a 43,000-square foot facility, vacant since 2009, in response to the demand for a local partner that can meet the needs of New England-based original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

ETM acquires new building in Littleton, MA
ETM Manufacturing Co. is proud to announce the acquisition of a new production facility in Littleton MA Currently located in Wilmington MA, ETM Manufacturing Co. plans on moving production from their 10,000 sq. ft. facility to the new 43,200 sq. ft. facility. With the acquisition of the new building ETM Manufacturing Co. will be able to expand their production capacity and broadens the company’s capabilities. The move marks an exciting step in the company’s history.

ETM purchases Environmentally Friendly Advanced Turret Punch from Amada
To continue to support ongoing customer demand ETM has purchased an Advanced Turret Punch Machine that has an Environmental Leader EM2510 from Amada. The new machine not only significantly increases punch capacity, it also reduces power consumption by up to 50% of conventional machines and state of the art technology eliminates chiller maintenance for the life of the machine allowing for lower operating costs

ETM hires Carlos Fukamizu to consult on lean manufacturing
ETM Manufacturing Co. continues to invest in lean manufacturing and create a stronger focus on their ability to offer low pricing for customers as well as supply chain consulting. ETM has recently hired former Toyota Production Manager, Carlos Fukamizu from Exceeda Consulting to advise on lean manufacturing. The idea of lean manufacturing originated with Toyota’s Production System and ETM plans to use Fukamizu’s valuable experience to help improve their already strong focus on lean practices.

In July 2007, about seven months after buying the Wilmington-based sheet metal fabrication company, Olney secured a $42,000 grant from the state Workforce Training Fund and launched a lean-manufacturing program — production training aimed at trimming wasted effort and time to make companies more competitive — as well as on-the-job training and sales development. In fall 2007, he also signed up for a state hiring incentive program that pays him $2,000 for each employee he hires and trains on the job.

ETM Manufacturing Co. Rolls Out Open Book Management to Employees
ETM Manufacturing Co. announces a new management style and the hiring of a new lead consultant as improvements continue for the newly acquired steel manufacturing company. Only seven months after ETM Manufacturing Co. was acquired by Rob Olney, plans have been made to introduce a new open book management program to employees. The new open book management is intended to help improve transparency between employees and management while creating incentives for increased productivity and compensation.

Arlowe Corporation acquires ETM Manufacturing Co.
After seven years of careful planning and saving Rob Olney successfully bought ETM Manufacturing Co. Olney was previously the director of research and development for a division Thermo Electron Corp. as well as working as the director of sourcing and product development at Staples Inc. Although the list was narrowed down from hundreds to about 8 or 9 companies Olney ultimately decided on ETM because he liked the companies focus on the telecom and high-tech industries. Excited when the deal closed Olney expressed his interest saying, “I am looking forward to making a good company even better.”
